Definition
The definition of "multicultural" as it is used at the University refers to the following: All racial & ethnic identities are inherently culturally rich & should be supported, maintained, valued, & respected. Difference is an asset, not a hindrance.
Purpose
The Multicultural Greek Council, also known as MGC, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas hereby strives to be a proactive entity that will seek the development & continuing growth of its participating organizations. It's purpose is to create & maintain high standards in the lives of fraternities & sororities by, unifying organizations, promoting higher education, providing community services, serving as a liaison among the Multicultural Greek chapters, the University student body, & administration.
Established in Spring 2007, MGC recognizes that sound interfraternity, university, & community relationships are needed to promote & perpetuate the best interests of UNLV, the community, & Greek life. They resolve to increase awareness & promote a positive image of their organizations through the encouragement of community service & philanthropy, support for high academic standards, & the development of campus & community leaders, thus commuting themselves as individuals & organizations to honor & abide by the tenents.
